Rules of Yahtzee

Goal

Play 13 rounds. In every round you fill one box of your scorecard. The player with the highest total wins (equal totals are a draw).

Your turn

Roll all five dice. You may then roll again up to two more times (three rolls in all): tap the dice you want to keep, the others are rolled again.
After your last roll – or earlier, if you are happy – you must write the result in one empty box. If nothing fits you write a 0 (a scratch) in a box you give up.
Tap a box to select it, then tap it again (or the button) to write it. The grey numbers show what each open box would score.

Upper section

Aces to Sixes: the sum of the dice showing that number.
Bonus 35 when the upper section totals 63 or more (three of each number).

Lower section

Three of a kind and Four of a kind: the sum of all five dice.
Full house (three of one number and two of another): 25.
Small straight (four in a row): 30. Large straight (five in a row): 40.
Yahtzee (five of a kind): 50. Chance: the sum of all five dice.

Extra Yahtzees

Every further Yahtzee while your Yahtzee box holds 50 earns a bonus of 100.
Joker rule: you must write that Yahtzee in the matching upper box if it is open. If not, in any open lower box (Full house 25, Small straight 30 and Large straight 40 count in full). If the lower section is full too, you write a 0 in an open upper box.
If your Yahtzee box holds a 0, an extra Yahtzee earns no bonus, but the joker rule still applies.

Several scorecards at once

In the menu you can play with 2 or 3 scorecards at the same time. Every turn you still roll up to three times, then you choose any open box on any of your cards. Every card has its own bonus of 35 and its own Yahtzee bonus; the joker rule applies per card. Your total is the sum of all cards and the game lasts 13 turns for every card. Games with more than one card are practice: they are not rated (solo games have a highscore list for each number of cards).

Against a friend

You take turns. The dice are rolled by the server and everybody sees them. Ranked games give rating points (see the trophy).
